Lockdown Story – Shiv Purohit

Talented young singer Shiv Purohit is 16 years of age.

He was 4 years old when he first heard his nana, Vasant Purohit, play the harmonium and ever since that day he has had a keen interest in singing and playing the harmonium. His nana used to teach him how to play and together they would sing too. He is also inspired by Saigal, his favourite idol.

He has been spending the lockdown playing the harmonium, piano and singing Indian Film classics.

Chale Aaj Tum Jahan Se (O Door Ke Musafir), from Indian movie Udan Khatola (1955) starring Dilip Kumar, Nimmi, Surya Kumari, Jeevan, and Tun Tun. This song is written by Shakeel Badayuni, composed by Naushad and originally sung by Mohammed Rafi.

Aye Qaatib E Taqdir, from Indian movie My Sister (1944), starring K L Sehgal, Sumitra Devi, Nawab, Akhtar Jahan, Tulsi Chakravarty, Devika Mukherjee, Hiralal, Tandon, Rajlaxmi Shorey. Original song sung by K.L. Saigal, Lyrics Pandit Bhushan.
